I'm all for minor league depth, but if Lowrie can play short at all I'd rather have a bat on the major league bench than a glove.

That's probably the sort of if they won't have an answer to until they need one, so I understand getting another shortstop-first option. Bad news for Luis Guillorme, though.

Put more effort into his beard than his fitness. Also, Sandy-tainted. Hechaverria isn't about to blossom into a legit productive player but is the kind of guy who could handle a few weeks at the big leagues if needed.
