hot start?

12 out of first 15 at home. Necessary, IMO, that Mets go at least 9-6 here, because they're not going to get stronger as the season goes on.

April: 17 wins
May: 15
June:14
July: 16 (Milledge call up)
August: 12
Sept: 11

Total: 85, 3rd place, in the running through mid-September. Willie tires his horses out and they collapse down the stretch. Mets try to get through September w/o their elderly starters whose arms blow out and they finish the season playing crucial games with guys in the rotation of whom you've never heard.

You read it here first.

I share your September concerns, but I think, even without rose-colored glasses, that they'll win more than 8 games.

I guess we'll watch and see.

So do I. Arithmetic error. Changed to 11.

Not bad. There was a rainout and the Mets still managed to top Bret's projection for the first 15 games by one.

Well it's hot as hell here. Kind of like August in October.
