The best part in the replay is the after-part. Fully extended, high off the ground, with his right arm swimming through the air to help his full extension for all it's worth, he has nothing to cushion the fall but the flexibility of his rib cage. He bounces up about 12 inches off the lawn, but hangs the Hell on.

I voted nay, Wright's catch gets points for originality.

Wright's catch while diving into the stands was better than his barehanded one - Hernandez' catch was definitely better....

I agree that Wright's catch in the stands was superor, now stop pointing that thing at me.

Are we 0 for 3 in games where Wright made his great catches and the game last night?

Hernandez's was full extenstion and a more difficult play. The ball was more on a line.

That doesn't take anything away from Wright's play.

I wouldn't order them 1) Hernandez, 2) Wright

More like: 1A) Hernandez 1B) Wright

Neither was as great as Captain Intangible's "Dive into the Stands".

Catch

use of the glove takes away from the spectacular nature of the play. Plus it was only the #2 top play of the day on SportsCenter

Aaron Heilman

I'm happy to be Aaron Heilman -- but why is he listed as being a met only from 2003-2004? Did he leave the team and nobody noticed?

Hernandez's catch was great, especially that lil extra push off he took at the last second to reach it. Full extension. Excellent!

But Wrights catch was reaching over his shoulder and knowing that he could only catch it with his bare hand, sticking out his arm and doing it.
Its hard to catch a spinning baseball with two bare hands, no less one.

Wright wins.

I didn't see Wright's catch live so I'm not going to vote because the emotion I felt watching Anderson would swing it Andy's way. If I had seen Wright's live though, I'm sure It would've made the missus and me get into just as bad a fight.

I do agree with Edgy's statement about the aftermash (see what I did there?) of Hernandez catch.

Wright's extension did not include the acrobat's elevation that Hernandez got.
