How do you like them best?

Soy.

Apr 05 2006 10:35 AM

But how do you cook your soy dogs?

Over a campfire on a stick is good, too

Microwave or boiled, I guess.

It's all good. Too much grease can be afterbad, though.

I took grilled to mean over a fire. Didn't even think of on a griddle.

And the burnter the better.

Whichever way Nathans does them, grilled I think.

Griddle? By grilled I meant over a grill. Like the kind for a picnic.

Boiled. With sauerkraut. I can take or leave the mustard.

So we all agree. Grilled mean over a fire, be it barbeque or campfire.

And, as Cooby said, the best result is a crispy critter.

Boiled. They're better when they're filled with hot water.

Boiled at the game with a soft warm bun.

Grilled at home with a toasted bun.

Both with a nice spicy mustard.

Wrong.

Over a campfire is roasted.

If you take away the grill, how are you grilling it?

My gosh, I started a controversy in the hot dog thread.

By the way, do you guys really mean boiled, or do you mean steamed?

Elster88

WTF

Is this really that hard?

Boiling = put the hot dog in water, apply heat
Grilling = put the hot dog on a [u:f64c56c46e]grill[/u:f64c56c46e], apply fire

Benjamin Grimm

What I do is bring the water to a boil, and then remove from the heat. At that point I put the hot dogs into the pot, cover, and let sit for eight minutes.

I heat them under my armpits.

Grilled = Dad standing in yard with a charcoal fire and a little round metal thing with a silver grate on top

Griddled = Mom standing in kitchen by a device with a flat surface (possible with a grid) plugged into the wall

Roasted = Whole family in yard or woods with little fire surrounded by rocks (not sandstone, they explode) with hot dogs on a stick (not shumac, it's poisonous)

We had a handy dandy rotisserie grill in our one LL conceesion stand, that thing was neat!

Don't forget those roller things at 7-11.

I won't be attending any barbecues at your house.

Although I guess your method eliminates the need for sauerkraut.

Yep! It was just like that, I guess that's what I meant, not a rotisserie

Edit: I meant the 7-11, not Willets armpits

We had this thing when I was a kid where you stuck the hot dog on metal prongs at each end and then electricity was run through them. I bet they don't make those anymore.

Dick Cheney gathered them all up and sent them to Guantanamo.
