Yancy said for someone to start it.

Yancy Says: "Please award up to TEN points, no more than SIX to any one player. (Just list last names and points awarded please! Please place any comments BELOW your votes, not on the same line. Thanks!)"

Bannister getting WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much love for 6 innings, 3 ER.

ScarletKnight41
Apr 06 2006 09:03 AM

It's more from the perspective of 5 1/3 innings of no-hit ball in his major league debut.

Bannister pitched six innings and gave the Mets a chance to win. He deserves a few points.

ABG, meanwhile, not in the spirit of things if he thinks that nobody did anything worthwhile in a game with two homers, five runs, a quality start and two holds.

As exciting as it was, it shouldn't mean diddly-squat when giving points if he ends up at 6 IP, 3 ER.

ERA's of 4.50 don't impress me.

Especially considering the number of walks and hit-batsmen.

All right, we really need a class on how to award Schaefer.

Glavine got 3.23 points for his performance on Opening Day. At least keep that in the back of your mind when voting for Bannister.

And thanks, Namor, for kicking off this thread. I'll probably often need help from our younger members for night games!

Beltran gets on base 3 times out of 5 and scores twice and can't even average a point? if he was 3-5 in the boxscore most of you would have given him a point, it's 2006 and walks are still getting no respect.

Johnny Dickshot

First consequence of the sliding point scale.

As warned a "point" loses all value when everyone has their own definition of how many they want to award.

Nymr83
Apr 07 2006 09:20 PM

i'm actually counting 25 voters and 255 points on the chart so someone awarded extra points, or i'm counting wrong.
i'd still toss votes that dont add up to 10.

Bradford has 1 point in your chart divided by 25 = .04, if there were more than 25 voters why is it divided by 25?

Yancy Street Gang
Apr 08 2006 11:31 AM

Rounding.

1 divided by 27 is 0.037037037037037037037037037037037. Everything is rounded to two decimal places, so he gets 0.04 points.

Nymr83
