XIGT, 3/21/19a: STL@NYM

The first of today's two games has been scorcher so far, with eight runs crossing in the first three innings.

Hector Santiago has pretty much guaranteed that Luis Ávilan gets Zamora's spot, as he yielded five runs in three innings. McNeil led off and homered on the first pitch for the Mets, but they trail 5-3.

Sexy+17-year-old shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio is DHing for the Mets today and had an RBI single in his first trip to the plate.

Mets, packed with minor league pitchers (and coaches) are down 8-3, but Mauricio is up with the bases loaded.

Looks like bmfc just met Dwight Gooden.

It's 13-5 in favor of the Cardinals as the minor-league floaters the Mets are sending to the mound keep getting hammered. And not in a good way.

Rajai Davis just sealed his fate by loping after a popup down the line as if he had a refrigerator on his back, and then watching it drop in fair territory for a double.

He's wearing a green sleeve on his throwing arm and he was moving so badly out there that I briefly thought it was Yoenis Céspedes putting his surgically repaired feet to the test.

Is his fate Syracuse, or Islip, do you think?

It ain't Flushing.

Bottom of the ninth and the Mets are down by a bloop and a blast, and then eight more blasts.

Or possibly the alternating of five bloops and five blasts.

Nine bloops and a blast could do it too.

Listening to Game 2 vs Houston. Edwin Diaz given up 4 straight hits in relief of Vargas, 5 runs in and now 7-3 bad guys
