Thanks, one and all. So, um, my job got eliminated last week, so I'm spending my birthday as a man of leisure. Tomorrow, I start the hunt. Strangely, I'm not as feeling as disappointed as I thought I might be. They really changed my job on me and I wasn't enjoying it, so I'm trying to see this as an early birfday present.

A similar thing happened to me and it was the year I turned 30. I got laid off 2-3 weeks before my birthday. I looked at it as an extended birthday vacation.
