Besides, shouldn't deGrom be the lede in any game he's pitching these days? He's within sneezing distance of displacing Max Scherzer as the top-ranked pitcher in baseball.

I hate the juts of the stands down the foul lines. Ballz down the line should roll toward the corner. Every time a ball ricochets off the jut in front of the outfielder, I feel like they're playing at Yankee Stadium.

Angling the seats down the line to face the pitcher means guys who didn't give up a week's pay don't have to spend the whole ballgame turning their heads to the side and looking past the guy sitting next to him.

It's early and all, but the middle relievers are gawd-awful. Kimbrel isn't fixing Seth Lugo or Luis Avilan.

Kimbrel also isn't signing on to be the third choice among relievers. A large part of the reason he's still unemployed is that he went into this thing insisting on a six-year deal. I'm sure circumstances have caused him to rethink that somewhat but I doubt he's morphed all the way towards middle-man/single-year territory.

No, I agree with you completely. Every fan of every team is calling for Kimbrel, but if he were a Met, he would not have been in that game yesterday anyway. The middle guys have been sucking hard though. I thought Peterson was winning me over til that beating against the Nats. I think everyone's laid a turd so far, Familia and Gselly included. Sugar's the only guy who has danced his way around his own bad pitching.
