I move that come up with a term to call a gathering of two or more Mets. We use it until the coinage becomes generally adopted. So move I.

Of the options, Flushing.

For your consideration: A Meet of Mets?

What should a collection of Mets be called?

Um. Mets?

I would vote for that one

Mettle is good.

Gaggle.

Mazzilli of Mets is fun to say but it'll never win

Fun to say is important.

"A Teufel of Mets" is an overlooked contender.

Um. Mets?

This should have been a choice.

Or, how about just team?

I voted "Flushing" but I love "Mettle".

I actually had it briefly on the short list, but I thought the redundancy would make it un-appealing.

Re: What's Your Collective Noun?

I kind of love "a Kranepool of Mets." Speaks to the longest-tenured Met, who played with everybody; I like the "pool" imagery, too.

Re: What's Your Collective Noun?

Exactly. The suffix "-pool" suggests a collection, and Ed — in his usual ordinariness, and occasional pretty goodness, his New York nativeness, his celebratedness linked to his status as a Met icon that has frequently alienated various incarnations of management, his ironic stardom, his 1962 link, his 1969/73 membership, his quixotic attempts to acquire the franchise — remains about as definitive a Met as there can be.

A Heep of Mets is a big-ass pile of Mets, people.

A Darling of Mets reminds me of a collection of starlings (which is actually a murmuration, but whatev).

A Familia of Mets is a tight-knit group of Mets.

A Koo of Mets sounds like caged Mets, probably those confined to the bullpen.

A Teufel of Mets is good, and sounds some Mets stuffed in a duffel bag for easy carrying.

A Meet of Mets is pretty perfect and would be my write-in.

A Bohanon of Mets is a whole load.

An Asdrubal of Mets is a very unpleasant whole load.

A Feliciano of Mets is joyful gathering.

a flushing of Mets is what I'm willing to do, usually by August.
