How much do we worry about Nimmo?

1 for 13 with 9 strikeouts. Small sample but that's pretty shitty.

Is this just a slow start or a continuation of a down pattern for Nimmo? Only 4 HR's in the second half last year, though the OPS stayed high.

He's gonna be fine right?

Re: How much do we worry about Nimmo?

I think after he got tagged twice for not getting out of the way of a pitch, he lost the benefit of the doubt from the umps. Sub-concsciously knowing that this guy likes to play them, they stopped giving him borderline calls.

Which means he's got to flip the script, and put thwacking the ball ahead of being the cagey on-base guy for a bit.

Nimmo will find himself. Just keep swimming.

The calls are one thing. I feel like he stopped attacking the ball in the second half. He hit only 4 HR's after 13 in the first half. He hit 4 in limited AB's in 2017. And it's not like he's been timid, he's just missing a lot of hittable pitches.

I don't know. Not worried yet, but you know, worried that I'm going to be worried soon.

There was a little drop off there. Mostly at the end. tiredness could've played a roll I guess, because he did find it for a stretch there in teh second half.

I mean, they speak to a very good player that tailed off at the end. It's really only 50ish PA/balls in play near the end. He had that little dip in the middle, but since his hard hit and exit velo stayed up, that was more likely he was just striking out a bunch and not having the quantity of hard hit balls to maintain a good slugging.

They often say don't put too much stock in September right? Maybe he was nursing some pain or fatigue or something. He'll get two hits tonight after all.

From the few at-bats I've seen, it looks like he's taken this advice too much to heart. He's chasing after crap pitches with weak swings. Very un-Nimmo like.

But, yeah...two hits tonight when he pinch hits for Vargas leading off the eighth and we bat around and score five. Vargas is in the middle of a shutout, but he's thrown 102 pitches and Mickey doesn't want to push him too hard in his first appearance.

Well Nimmo is leading off playing LF, so he's not eligible to pinch hit.

Why did I see a lineup that had Nimmo sitting and McNeil in left?

It's very early, granted. The approach does seem a little different. Chili's influence?

Nimmo has the most points for my fantasy team today, right now.

More now, but his hand should be OK. I'd rest him for a couple of days at least. Long term, not worried.
