Bit of a shocker. Losses cut. Nido up.

Re: Td'A DFA'd

Wow. I think that throw into CF last night kinda sealed it.

Does he throw waivers, minors or such?

Re: Td'A DFA'd

He has no options, so he has to pass through waivers.

Given the salary, I'd be shocked if that doesn't happen. Which brings us back to why he was tendered a contract at that rate in the first place.

Re: Td'A DFA'd

I tend to think if he held on to second on that attempt for a double, he'd still be a major-leaguer.

Re: Td'A DFA'd

It's pretty Un-Mets to eat a salary like that in late April. I wouldn't be

surprised if some juicy sub plot (fact or fiction) comes out in the next

few days.

Well, there's every chance he goes unclaimed and he ends up vacationing in Syracuse.

Maybe we can un-trade Plawecki

Everything points to him being done, kaput, finito with the organization.

Well, if he got a d'Fa instead of an outright release, that doesn't point in that direction.

Re: Td'A DFA'd

The sensible thing is to let him try to get it together in Syracuse. It's certainly possible he needs more time to recover from the injury.

If he's released, someone might pick him up for league minimum.

GM interview I saw had a bit of sayonara slant. We shall see.

Re: Td'A DFA'd

You are already paying the guy, no harm in keeping him in the minors if you can. Catcher free agency is a barren wasteland if you suffer a few injuries...

At 3.5 million he will go to Syracuse

Re: Td'A DFA'd

He had a brutal game Saturday and is off to a rocky start. I don't think Nido will ever be much of a hitter, yesterday being the rare exception, but if he can be a solid guy with the mitt and spell Ramos once a week, I suppose he's just another MLB backup catcher. I'd prefer Mesoraco as the bench guy, I feel like he could at least give you the rare pop, not that he wants to participate.

Did they miss the boat on the Mesoraco/deGrom thing, maybe? Might there have been more to that than we realized?

(FWIW, Syndergaard had an era under 2 in 11 games with Nido.)

Mets winless in the post-d'Arnaud era.
