Zippin' Along (But not as long as we used to)

Why are the zippers on men's pants so short these days?

Has the male anatomy changed that much?

Is someone trying to anticipate an unnecessary evolution of the species?

Or did the manufacturers get a real good price on short zippers?

Wassup?

Some jeans do have short zippers but I'm not sure why. I got a pair of "bike commuter jeans" from Swerve -- the zipper is so short I practically need to pull em down to my knees to use the urinal. Not sure why that is

are you sure you're wearing mens' jeans? womens jeans have laughably short zippers.

maybe you're wearing jeans that are marketed to pee-sitters, instead of pee-standers? i'm sure there's internet literature lauding the benefits of either side of that divide, so perhaps an enterprising clothing manufacturer has hit upon a potentially lucrative niche.

I've noticed the last 3-4 years or so I go out more and more with my fly down.

That's all I got on zippers as mine are all more than adequate in length.

Yeah I've noticed it too. It's hella stupid. That design was created by someone who has never used a urinal in their life.

Re: Zippin' Along (But not as long as we used to)

I have one pair of pants -- purchased sometime in the last year, a casual work type of thing under the Dickies brand -- with a shorter-than-usual zipper and, yeah, it's annoying.

And it's not the kind of thing that you'd notice just by trying them on. Only under, how you say, working conditions does it become apparent.

I think customers tend to underestimate, and therefore underuse, the value of comments and complaints directly to the company (me included).

What I probably should do is contact Dickies and tell them I'm not going to buy anything from them again because of this design.

What I probably will do is lazily NOT contact them and then proceed to not buy anything from them again because of this design.

This is part of the reason I've been increasingly going with nice-looking "easy pants" on my offdays. #Fleethefly

Pete Alonso must hate this trend.
