Lefty relievers. Most teams need those things, right?
I'm Daniel Zamora. And I'm a lefthanded reliever who has been up. But the manager can't find dick to do with me. I've gotten 4 1/3 mostly low-leverage innings, with half my ephemeral appearances coming in blowouts.
Yeah, well, that's understandable. You've got to keep some marginal dude like me buried, right. I mean, I've ... holy shit! Did you know I've only given up one hit?! Folks are batting .071 against me! This is insane! Get me the ball!!
Every day, some reliever comes and another goes, and all that might be interesting if I hadn't fallen into total disuse. Call child services and report the Mets. This is neglect.
I've got to think, trend lines aside, though, that this situation will not sustain itself. I will break through. I will pitch in important moments. I will show my quality. I will not be frightened. I will be enlightened.
And I intend to enlighten you as to my crazy-mad skillz. Yeah, I know. I went to Stony Brook and that rightly gives you pause. But an .071 batting average speaks for itself. That is, it speaks for itself if I calculated it right. I'm not sure. I went to Stony Brook.
But I'm sure I deserve more PT than I'm getting, Seawolf or no Seawolf. How do you see my season shaking out?
