IGT - 6/14/19 Archies demand some "Sunshine"

Edgy wanted a deep dive into the Archies catalog.! Goodness knows after last night, we need a little "Sunshine." [YOUTUBE]QrGQ-dF-vEk[/YOUTUBE] No teenage witches, leering dogs and other stuff in this one -- but you can sure tell it's from the early 1970s! Once Thursday's game is completed, Steven Matz (5-4, 3.99) will take the hill against Daniel Ponce de Leon (0-0, 1.80) I think last year he was Poncedeleon. Either way, that's a tough name.

Maybe he's the same guy! The could be some truth to that fountain-of-youth stuff! I saw Juan Ponce de Leon's grave in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but I couldn't verify that he was actually in there.

It almost seems like a plot sometimes, one where the hitters, fielders, and pitchers conspire to see how the game can be sabotaged. Fielder: 'Hey I'm due to make an error this inning, but I'll only do it if you walk the leadoff hitter first' P: 'Sounds good to me. And this way when I follow up your error with my one big hit for the night it'll totally destroy the lead we had built up.' H: 'So I should fail to drive in any tack-on runs prior to this all, then?' P: 'Definitely, we don't want any lead too big for our pen to blow later on'

How was the Chernobyl documentary? "Chernobyl" is amazing and worth seeing despite the horror and bleakness. Like the Mets, there are arrogant people in charge who think that they know better than everybody else when they really are ignorant and have no business having such responsibility. At least with the Mets, no one gets killed.

It's not a documentary though, it was a five-part HBO dramatization of the events in April 1986 (and beyond).

Glad you watched and liked. Next on the series of shows so bleak that the Mets look good in comparison: "When They See Us" on Netflix. I'm 2 (of 4) in and felt like throwing things.
