David Ortiz is reportedly in stable condition after getting shot at an "amusement center" (video arcade? strip club?) in Santo Domingo.

He posted a photo earlier in the evening of kids going on go-carts, so closer the former, and he was in the bar area at the time of the shooting.

Between the Papi shooting and the resort illnesses (whatever they are) I'd say the Dominican tourist industry is taking a major hit.

"Authorities" in the DR are now saying that Papi wasn't the intended target of the shooting. So if this was part of some drug ring beef, their hit squads aren't very good at their jobs and, if the other stories about the DR in the news are accurate, they'd increase their kill pct simply by sending their victims out on cruise ships.
