A collection of toys, now in the possession of a younger child and taking an RV trip, go on an adventure to reunite with one of their lost companions.

I did not like the ending. At all.

But other than that, it was wonderful.

The animation is just incredible. You think it can;t get any better, and it just does. I thought the rabbit and chick were hysterical, especially when they were showing how they'd handle various situations. The creepy ventriloquist dolls were perfect. Duke Caboom and Rejean were a hoot.

Turning Bo into a Disney action princess kinda kinda kinda feels a little forced.

Yup. And she's part of a lamp. Lamps are toys?

Disney princesses and super heroes are beyond popular right now.

Sounds like Bo is a perfect blend

Can't wait to see this!

Watched dvd with my grandkids yesterday. I didn't like ending (what I could hear of it) either, but you never know.

V had to hide his face when dummies were on; I hate them too

Parents a little indulgent over a lost Spork; but maybe little girl has issues

My favorite part was the bunnies' fantasies to attack grandma!

Re: Toy Story 4

Does it make me out of step with culture that I have not ever seen a Toy Story movie? Or any animated movies this century? I sometimes wonder about that.

Yes, of course it does. The question is, does it matter to you?

The answer was in the question: no, it doesn't. I tend to take care of everything that matters to me. I think I seek to learn just how far my bubble is off plumb.

If it matters, the first two Toy Stories were released last century.

Sure, it matters, but I managed to miss that, too. I think the last animated movie I saw was only partially animated: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Hated that one. No wonder you never went back

Actually had not thought about it that much but I think you're right.

Re: Toy Story 4

The worst part of Roger Rabbit was Roger Rabbit.

Compelling, inventive movie all around but the title character was annoying. As a cartoon character, he'd be more likely to be pushing a cereal in 30-second spots than to be starring in his own short features. Over the course of a full-length feature, he was a real load.

Re: Toy Story 4

They could have, and probably should have, but I was pleasantly surprised by the sequel. I hadn't heard a thing about the movie before watching it, so I guess in retrospect kick ass Bo is a little formulaic, but fun and well done.

Like other Toy Story movies, it kinda glosses over kidnapping (common theme), attempted murder, and this time they throw in some good old fashioned organ harvesting. I guess in this world, toys are as bad to each other as humans are. Good to know.

If in 1995, you wondered why anyone would cast Annie Potts as the damsel in distress, all you had to do was wait around until 2019 to find out she had been perfectly cast all along.

Re: Toy Story 4

Probably wasn't necessary, but if they're going to give us more time with these toys, then at least they did it well. Better than 2, but not as good as 1 or 3. I think my only disappointment is that the core group of toys - Jessie, Rex, Hamm, Slinky Dog, and the Potato Heads, and even Buzz to a certain extent - all get sidelined for new characters. Although the new characters are good too.

They really, really, REALLY could have.
