This is the only conclusion I can come to from there being no Mets game on July 4th. They couldnt play the Yankees Wed-Thu instead of Tue-Wed? Absolutely terrible job by all involved.

MFYs in St. Pete screwed everything up. Six teams off today. Surprised MLB didn't get them together for a round-robin exhibition. Not really, but they are missed.

In addition to the oddity of teams having an off day on July 4, four teams are off today -- on a Friday -- including, for whatever reason, both Chicago teams and both Ohio teams.

The league has to squeeze in mandatory off-days but with the All-Star break at hand this, days off on July 4 and 5, is idiotic. Well done Manfred (it's his office, he's accountable).
