Surprised but also pleased to see McNeil good to go. I agree with Gelbs eyewitness report of his relative mopey-ness last night. Let's sweep this inferior club and move on. It's my sense that these weekday getaway day games haven;t been kind to the Mets this year but I haven't actually looked that up

I'd've liked to see McNeilio get the turn at second in his stead, though. I don't want to see his infield skills resigned to the dustbin.

Mickey actually said he didn't want to interrupt this awesome streak they've been having even as nobody except Rosie and Conforto are hitting one of the worst clubs we'll face all year. Any one game ought not matter but jeez. We dropped him a couple weeks back and he came back with a mini hot-streak

Wheels was throwing a no hitter till Abreu singled off Rosie's glove. We just made the 3rd out at 3rd base Davis caught going 1st to 3rd on a Rosie single, 1-0 after 4.5

It may not have been tight enough for a save sit, but hopefully finishing a win for a team on a roll, walking off the mound, getting congrats from everybody, felt save-like enough to get him CAHN-fident.

So McNeil has now officially got to be tabbed as Rocket J. Squirrel after that act. Nice that he's the first (AFAIK) to take advantage of the new stadium configurations. A 'Net Gem'? Not sure that ball is catchable otherwise. Or, if he did make the catch sans net, we'd be holding our breaths while listening to Mickey in the post-game presser saying; "We'll know more when we get the X-Ray results".
