Davis needs a nickname. Per the Media Guide, JD's given name is Jonathan Gregory Davis, so "JD Davis" is "John Davis Davis".

My grim guess was Cano would be pulled a few innings early, McNeil would move to second and some Pirate would Utley him. That was after the lead grew large enough to shake off my usual bullpen fears and I needed something else to not enjoy.

But now just 35 more in the three innings since to where he's slightly as the positive side of pitches/inning.

Oh yeah, and one hit so far.



But it's still a likely spot for someone like Hart later in this game given the one-sided score, the bevy of relievers used last night, and the looming DH tomorrow [three games in <48 hours from Mon thru Wed].

I liked Gary's idea of signing A. Cabrera. Waddaya think about removing Noah after 6 and letting Mazza (he's still there, right?) and Hart finish or is that a mistake before a DH?

If they're going to sign someone not already on the 40 man roster, I'd prefer it be Tejada. who is the better fielder. Also, I'd let Noah go the "traditional" as hard as he can for as long as he can, and then see how far that is before just pulling him at some arbitrary point. (Unless he's tired from running the bases, that is.) But 80 pitches through 6 seems too early. Later

Nice to have a bullpen-proof game, though. I'd let Noah go 100 pitches wherever that leaves him and let the new guy they picked up today finish it off.
