usually they trip me up with a 7:35 start. 7:20 is just weird. I'm all for weird but starting a live event at a weird time isn't helpful for anyone.

Tidbit: Mets RHP Edwin Diaz has yielded at least a run in five of his past six appearances with a 11.12 ERA and four homers allowed in 5 2/3 innings, giving up a two-run homer in the ninth inning Sunday.

Would be a bad time to come down from the highs they have to come down from eventually, but I don't think the Braves are _that_ much better than the Mets, and the Mets are confident and riding high right now. They pitch better too, so if they keep the Braves guys in check, good things can happen. Fangraphs projections think the Mets will both lose and win one more game than the Braves going forward, percentage points better.

I think part of my trepidation is the realization that unless we take say, 7 or more of our remaining 9 games with them, we probably won't win the division. That's a big ask on my part and the odds have me highly UNCAHNFIDENT

No, the Braves start all their weeknight games at 7:20, bumped up from 7:35 last year.

Their later-than-usual time is supposedly due to Atlanta's notorious traffic conditions, which considering they no longer actually play in Atlanta is kinda weird.

I don't dig SNY functionaries sitting in for Gary under any circumstances. Rose should be his backup. And I like the three man booth, and I would applaud the rotation of several ex-pitchers who have broadcasting aspirations to step in for Darling when he's away, and a rotation of ex-batters to step in for Keef.

Yeah, he was certainly trying out there, but ... apart from all the balls flared in front of him (I think there were 30 or so), he was busier than he should have been because balls hit out to there did not come back in as quickly as they might have.
