And if we'd quit hitting DPs things might be going even better. With Braves pitchers having retired just four of the 15 batters they've faced [8 hits + 3 BBs] six runs allowed is almost good news.

It sounds weird to say in a 7-1 game, but that was a big GiDP there. Braves have one hit so far and that was somehow an infield single by Brian McCann - a guy who might finish in a dead heat in a sprint with Wilson Ramos. I mean, at least make them earn it!!

Mickey says he goes by analytics 15% of the time and feel 85% of the time. It says a lot. The thing is, a lot of time guys say they aren't going by analytics, they're going by analytics, just the wrong analytics. I mean, saying you use analytics 15% of time is using analytics.

I don't like that this lead is about half of what it should be (Hits = 17:4) and that the Braves still have four shots left at chipping away at it, especially seeing as how Atlanta bats score a large percentage of their runs in late innings. And so it starts ...

You know you're a true Mets fan when you can keep track of and distinguish this whole mostly sad sack bunch of relievers. I can't believe how many relievers the Mets have gone through this season and last. I'm wondering if it's a Mets thing or a general baseball trend given how starters are, historically, throwing less innings than ever. I just don't feel like looking it up, though.

Headline: The Mets get 23 hits and win in a squeaker. Hey Drew Gagnon, What the Fuck, man? So I hit the sack with the radio on after 7, Mets up 10-4 I fall asleep quickly only to wake up a short time later to the words "And the Braves get the tying run to the plate" Not exactly what you want to hear at that time of night but, at the same time, also not totally unexpected. During that entire game it seemed like we should have been winning by a bigger margin than whatever the score was at the time. 3 DPs, 14 LOB, and 5 for 17 w/RiSP isn't exactly piling-on material. The Injuns out-hit the Yanx last night by a similar margin to our game [24/9 vs 23/10] yet they romped their way to a 19-5 win and, I'm guessing, didn't have to wake their closer from his nap in the process.

One curious note. Rosario had 5 hits last night. 3 of those were just out of the reach of Acuna. He missed each of those by a few inches at best. How crazy is baseball.
