Mets by the Footware Redux

I kind of hijacked the narrative in the Casey-v.-Darling thread with shoe talk. The ROOS reference was to a series of threads 12 years back called Mets by the Footware, which I went back to find.

A lot of the photos are gone but we were trying (and failing) to make Met teams representing each brand of shoe. (Click imagees to enlarge.)

I seem to recall Seav for a time was a Spalding spokesman.

"New Spalding Wings feel like wings on you feet, and with wings on you feet you can fly..."

Respect McReynolds rocking the Ponys. They were my brand for a short while.

I think Kingman rocks Pumas in that Sporting News cover

I did not need this thread today.

Appears Sid had no shoe loyalty. Looks like a Pony and an Asics maybe? Sorry, boss, I'll be looking at pictures of baseball cleats all day.

Sorry. If you're like me, though, the whole "boss" thing takes care of itself.

Got to add Rusty to Team All-Day-I-Dream-About-Sex

  • [*]Rusty Staub

That's kind of cool, since Lee Mazzilli and Keith Hernandez, despite being vets, were sort of proteges of Rusty's during their second tenure.
