Traded to the Jays for C. Considerations.

The Jays saw the Schaefer Award press release and moved fast.

I liked watching him pitch; had a distinct over-the-top delivery. Gave us a couple very promising outings, a few shit ones too, but we gave up on him pretty fast. I realize the option thing meant he was one of the most likely to pass though, there are a couple like him every year.

Pretty sure he threw at Rhys Hoskins' face.

A reliable source of Times New Roman jokes. Otherwise, eh. We can finish fourth without him.

Yes, this. He pitched in the game I saw at Wrigley and it felt like it was even more over-the-top than it looked on TV.

Wilmer's been such an enormous font for so much clever wordplay. /rollseyes

Re: Memories of Wilmer Font

Oh, you also know Font? I know Font from way back when. Last time I saw him, he gave me some tasty high end Fontina cheese as a gift with a very fancy font label. Fancy fonts for fancy cheeses. But no dinged corners on that piece of cheese.

Re: Memories of Wilmer Font

Font has been up and down since 2012, and the thing is, though he's never really gotten traction in a big league career that has added up to 96 innings over parts of seven seasons, he's absolutely killed it in AAA. And I think if he can find a goin'-nowhere team to plug him into a rotation and allow him to take his lumps, he'll probably figure it out along the way an be a decent big league pitcher. We certainly saw him have some good spurts with the Mets.

A sunk cost which should have no bearing on what a fair return for Font ia today.
