9/10/19 IGT - Now with more Rattlesnake recipes!

Cooks.com has a 'Southern Fried' preparation using just simple ingredients (salt, pepper, flour, eggs, accent) that anyone can make at home ... providing you first know how to find one, buy one, and then skin one.

The Food Network chips in with a 'Filipino Fried' dish, marinated in soy sauce of course. Not sure the the southwestern Diamondback is the same variety of rattler found in The Philippines however. Very different climates.

Backwoodsbound.com looks to have plenty of them plus the usual assortment of squirrel, frog, raccoon, turtle recipes because ... well because of course they do.

For the Mets tonight, a key ingredient will be young Diamondback Zac Gallen. "It's great (b)eating the older, more seasoned ones" said Mickey Callaway in today's presser, "but I really like to have me a big helping of the younger more tender cuts every now and then. Thems good eats!"

A serving of Gallen would be a good chaser following Monday night's devouring of Ketel Marte. Jacob deGrom was so enamored of the dish that he had three helpings all by himself although did manage to leave one serving for his late-arriving friend Seth.

The Mets have announced that they'll let Zack Wheeler carve the first slices in tonight's dish. Other table participants to be announced shortly.

Tuesday Night Mets Club reuniting at this one, we'll be in 407.

It's basically win out from here, right?

The "win out" part of the season started yesterday. But yes, no more losing.

Baseball Prospectus has the Mets at about 5% to get one of the wild card spots. And 0% to win the World Series.

I think Wheeler sleeping through a base-stealer leaving early is an example of the Mets being underprepared, and it's cost them a run.

Do other teams allow runners to steal at will or only this team?

I'll give Todd Frazier credit. Doug Eddings is calling low strikes, and while other guys are going down looking, Todd reached down and watched that ball.

Five players in our starting lineup have names that end in O. When Syndergaard starts, Nido will make it six!

And it's somehow taken over an hour and a half to get through these 4 innings.

The two replays are but a part of the problem.

Christ, it's the 9th inning with a 1 run lead. I feel like I'm about to watch the part in Groundhog's Day where Bill Murray kills himself repeatedly.

So after Frazier's second double in the 4th inning: 2nd & 3rd, up 3-1 (should have been 4-1), still only one out, runners on 2nd & 3rd ... the Mets haven't had a baserunner since.

Wilson's pounding the zone, but he can't get the swing-and-miss when he needs it, and now there's the tying run on.

This is just like his Philly inning so far: 24 pitches from Wilson and he's retired one batter.

oe: gets his 2nd out (of the 4 he needs) on pitch #26

Out-hit 10-5. Got a four-out save by the skin of their teeth, with no margin for error, from a guy who should be the fifth option out of the pen.

I feel like they stole this one.

It looked like Justin Wilson was yelling or pointing. There might have been a message on the scoreboard "THROW TO SECOND!"

Wilson was definitely saying something and pointing to 2nd. But in a rundown you still have to keep your eye on the guy at 3rd and Pete must have thought he was too far off the base at that moment.

Maybe his biggest problem was not even glancing at the runner on 1st as he was going towards the base for the force. It's like that guy was totally out of Pete's thought process and/or his vision even

though he was standing on the base as Pete trotted towards him (being off the base would have made him an easy target for a tag-step DP) but once he (the runner) realized that Alonso was paying

him no mind is when he took off for 2nd. But Pete never even seemed to consider him.

The whole Stadium was telling him. He'd have been out by 75 feet! High risk of a Little League Play there but we survived.

Need to double check but that was the 5th Zack Wheeler Tuesday Night Met Action this year, and I think we have won all 5. We have also had 2 Varagases, 1 Syndergaard and 1 Stroman. No deGroms and yet, Tuesday Night Mets are the Best Mets.

That might have been the worst combined games of McNeil and Alonso's season but they hung on. I would have liked Frazier to be hitting 8th all year.
