Crazy, these weren't guys who bounced around the minors and made league minimum for a year either, Castillo at least should have been set for life.

I guess it doesn't preclude you from mixing with the wrong sort of sort, and get you involved with the dumbest ventures possible.

I'm not sure what the freakiest part of this is: that this guy is nicknamed "El Abusador," or that he was allegedly behind the hit on Papi. Maybe Papi tipped off the Feds.

In case you're not of the clickthrough persuasion, that would be ex-Mets Octavio Dotel and Luis "Omar's Folly" Castillo, accused of being part of "one of the most important drug-trafficking structures in the Caribbean." Dotel has been scooped up in the Dominican; Castillo is in Florida with family.

For what it's worth, when Seawolf and I got together for a Mets game in Pittsburgh, despite the fact that we are both Geneseo alums and Mets fans, we never once discussed setting up a drug smuggling ring.

Castillo and Dotel are reportedly cleared of charges. They can go back to being the guy who dropped the ball and the guy we traded too soon.
