Several Mets top prospects will be on the Scottsdale Scorpions, including my adoptee from the old CPF board Thomas Szapucki.(Do I have to re-adopt him here?)

This has been posted as a public service announcement for all of you who have given up on the Mets.

Also attending will be Syracuse hitting coach Joel Chimelis, although he's simply listed as a "coach" on the roster, presumably staffing one of the bases among other duties as the Atlanta system's Danny Santiesteban will coach the batters.

Brooklyn trainer Vanessa Weisbach will be joining the team as well.

Re: Arizona Fall League 2019

Mixed results, but one might call the turnout more successful than not. All four of the Mets pitching for the Scorpions prospered, unfortunately, the hitters did not.

But blesseDly, the one hitter that did have an excellent showing is top-prospect Andres Giménez.

Giménez' led the league in OPS and batting average, was second in slugging (behind a guy who out-homered him 9-2), third in triples, fourth in on-base percentage, fifth in hits, sixth in RBI. Nonethless, Twins shorstop/centerfielder Royce Lewis was named MVP. He had a good season too, but his first-overall-draft-pick pedigree added some special sauce to his statsburger.
