Boycotting the "Debate" Tonight

CNN has been whoring this charade for three weeks. I refuse to give it one

second of ratings. They're so full of themselves with the countdown and this

afternoon commercials are show inline so they can keep the debate commercial

going it's absolutely ridiculous. I bet there's less than four solid moments that will

be worthy of attention tomorrow... the rest will be fluffernutter...

Joining you on that train. These alleged "debates" prove nothing. Answering programmed questions from "moderators" is not debating. It's merely inquisition and not particularly informative inquisition at that. I presume Mayor Pete, in his thoughtful, succinct manner, will provide the best comments, but I'm not spending my time hoping for that in real time. I don't consider this boycotting but merely finding better ways to spend my evening.

I have yet to watch a debate in my life. It's a lot like Spring Training BP to figure out who's going to play CF in a given year.

I would have beaten you all in announcing my intention to boycott ... had I previously been aware that there was actually a debate scheduled for tonight.

Besides, there's playoff baseball on.

I'm always in bed by then.

I did catch the Sarah Palin show back in the day.

I have no opinion here ... I'm punting.

Same. I like Ceet's spring training analogy. "Hey, this guy from AA struck out the side in the seventh!" Yeah, well, he was facing two 19-year-olds and Garth Brooks. So let's not get too excited.

With that many people on stage, it's nothing more than a contest to see who can create the best six-second sound bite.

Precisely. And the questions can be ridiculous, like asking if Ellen DeGeneris should have sat with George Bush at a football game. 'Debates' often lack substance when it's just two people. Twelve is just a shitshow in the making.

I think that is actually an important question. because whoever says "no" has proven that they are part of the problem, not the solution, to the atmosphere of partisan insanity. telling Ellen who to be friends with makes you a filthy piece of shit.
