A battle of incoherent lead vocalists.

Petty's got a funny voice but he's hardly incoherent. I can incohear everything he sings.

Obviously you don't remember the Saturday Night Live skit with Bob Dylan and Tom Petty speaking incoherently with one another.

I haven't watched SNL in 25 years

Vote for Petty! He sings more clearly than Shane!

Are you all daft?
|
Willets Point Apr 14 2006 12:33 PM |
I can relate. Kind of akin to how I feel about Queen in relation to others CPF'ers.

Never say "never." Or "never, ever ever ever." I think you've got to open, your mind, heart, and ears if you truly want to know what's behind every solid meaningful erection.

The Pogues just barely drink Tom Petty under the table 30.5-29.5.

I dunno. You had 48 hours (in this case since there was a weekend involved 96 hours). If Rotblatt wants to give you a pass, that's up to him I say. Otherwise, you snooze you lose.

So reject it. A vote is about registering your conscience, and that I did.
|
sharpie Apr 18 2006 10:42 AM |
I'm not rejecting anything, I just think it's up to Rotblatt to decide.
|
Rotblatt Apr 18 2006 11:33 AM |
So Edgy's vote puts us at a tie, and we move to a tie breaker?
|
sharpie Apr 18 2006 11:35 AM |
Actually, Edgy's vote would move Petty into the win column but I think the 3-song playoff is good.
|
metirish Apr 18 2006 11:41 AM |
Hold it guys, what is the vote count, if we are going to count the late Edgy vote then lets score the contest properly...there is a whole lot at stake here...
|
Edgy DC Apr 18 2006 11:53 AM |
it's 35.5-34.5 in favor of the Heartbrekaers with my vote. The Pogues take it 30.5-29.5 without it. I didn't vote with an eye on how this matchup would turn out, but was damn tempted to call "I'm a Man You Don't Meet Everyday" a tie, then we'd have us all locked up.
|
Rotblatt Apr 18 2006 03:28 PM |
Well, we should probably call it for Petty, then, right?
|
Edgy DC Apr 18 2006 03:31 PM |
If you accept my tardiness, it's very big of you.

And very un-"petty" as well.

bah-dum-dum-chah! Nice one. Yeah, I'll take your tardy vote, Edge. But at some point in the future, I will ask you for a favor, which you may not refuse . . .
