This game had more fireworks than the Fourth of July, as the Mets shelled Livan Hernandez. I thought JFK wasn't a good park for home runs. Someone apparently forgot to tell the Mets. Zambrano did all that he needed to do with the offensive barrage he received in support of his first start, but we have to hope he can and will do better in the future.

Oliver pitched 2 strong innings of relief and Sanchez pitched a carefree ninth. Julio still continues to struggle. It appears that mop up duty in blowouts is all that Julio can be trusted with right now. I hope he gets a lot of work in the near future.

I'm doing this from my mother's computer in Virginia. Sllloooowwww dial up connection, so there will be no beer for the player of the game today. Besides, I don't think a six pack would be insufficient for the fine effort the team put in on this game. I think a keg of Samuel Adams is in order after such a fine display.

There were a lot of contributions to this win. I went with Delgado, because it seemed that he was constantly contributing to the scoring, but it was a rough call to make.

Hey the Mets kicked some ass in this game. Don't forget to show them some love before the polls close.
