Where did anyone get the idea that American political debates were ever genteel, high-minded, elegant oratorical affairs? I mean, Lincoln-Douglas may have featured slightly more complex vocabulary than our President can muster, but the series also featured shouted questions from the audience, rampant shouted epithets and heckling, and conspiracy theorizing/mudslinging from both parties.

Oh, and the answer is Sanders. Sanders won. By, like, a lot.

We think. Because we're still waiting. But we're pretty sure. We think.

Hillary won all 3 debates. Didn't matter.

Bernie wins Nevada in a walk. I doubt there's any stopping him now, and we're going to have to deal with that. Vladimir's getting the matchup he wants.

Re: Nevada Caucus 2020 IGT

Great. (Not!) Sanders won't pack the courts and he won't kill the filibuster. He intends to get his agenda through by passing everything through the reconciliation process in some wacky moves where his vice president and not the parliamentarian decides what's acceptable. If Sanders can even get a Senate majority-- and if he does, it'll be microscopically tiny with no room for dissent - smaller than the majority the GOP has right now and Joe Manchin, the occasional Democrat, on the team. With the only seat that's a virtual lock to flip is Alabama's, and that favors the GOP. Just make DC and PR states already.

Plus all the socialist baggage which might be a bigger impediment than Buttigieg's sexuality or Warren's - I dunno - womanness.

And everybody hates him. And he's not even a Democrat.

Part of the reason I'm all about Warren-- outside of intelligence and general competence-- is that she would almost certainly be the most effective of these palookas should the Dems win the presidency but make no real Senate gains. Lady know administration/bureaucracy. She LIVES for that shit.

Yeah. Warren's definitely coming across as the candidate who knows how the Capitol works -- way better than the rest of the field.

It's almost something you don't want to admit, considering the field includes a guy who is a six-and-2/3-term senator who was also a two-term vice president.

The wonkiest person in the field is often the one most likely to shoot themselves in the foot when trying to play populist on the campaign trail, but I think both she and her followers have found a comfort with her persona.

I sure wish I could make that stupid Pocahontas card go away, but I guess the real (and more realistic) hope should be that the president plays it one to many times and it blows up on him.

As far as "baggage" goes, the "Pocahontas" thing would fit in the side zipper pouch of Hillary's carry-on bag. It is used up at this point.

A friend of mine who is pretty liberal - he admits to having never voted for a Republican - said he would stay home in the general if Sanders was on the ballot and would only not show up to vote for Trump because he doesnt want to hear shit about it forever.

Trump is salivating at this match up.

Bernie and his nutty ideas can't be paid for. He's fun to listen to, I think he

genuinely means well, but he'll never get elected vs. Trump.

Hopefully people will come to their senses on Super Tuesday.

The thing is, though... I'm not talking about Capitol workings. Though I have no doubt she's plenty read-up on legislative stuff, I meant that her forte is in executive-regulatory materiel. She's got a better-than-almost-any-human-around grasp of Presidential power and agencies-- the stuff she'll need to get anything of consequence done with a McConnell-led congressional blockade in place.

Dems need to start worrying about down-ticket races if Sanders wins the nomination. It can be like 2010 all over again.
