You don't have to be a manual laborer to get dried and cracked hands, particularly in the winter, and this stuff deals with that a helluva lot better than ordinary hand lotions which just seem

to coat your mitts with slimy moisture but nothing that actually helps beyond the moment. My main issue was that I was losing tactile feel in my fingers as if my fingerprints had been filed

off. They hadn't, of course, but the pads of my fingers were becoming so slick that I found myself dropping stuff a lot.

It's not cheap -- 7 or 8 bucks IIRC for a chewing tobacco-sized canister like in the picture above, but you don't need very much -- scoop out a finger's worth -- a couple times a day at most

so it'll last you a while.

My finger tips aren't slick, they're chapped and cracked so much that they cause "pulls" on sweaters.

Do you think that product would help?

I mean, i'll try it. Nothing seems to work for long for me, my hands are perpetually cracked to the point of standard lotions hurting. I usually try to use aquaphor or other petroleum based lotions that are certainly slicking but they don't sting and they protect the skin longer. This looks like one of those 'shea butter' type creams? similar idea i think.

My hands are so dry sometimes that just doing something like taking laundry (quite dry) out of the dryer results in my hands feeling and appearing like they're coated in powder.

I use a little Aquaphor on my head this time of year. I don't have hand issues but

a friend of mine does (he works outdoors 9-10/day year round) and this time of year

he puts Aquaphor on his hands at bedtime and sleeps in parade gloves. Works great.
