The photo heading the linked column is the lede. There have been millions of words written by millions of people (many of those words written by people right here) and they all say this.

I don't believe I need to read any more about Trump.

I'm surprised that nobody has written the words "registered cretin", maybe because he is still working toward his certification.

I think he thought it was a mostly ceremonial title and didn't have any actual responsibility.

Many of his voters must think that too.

Re: Salon

I like the comparison to the mayor in Jaws. Pretty spot-on. Trump cares about nothing but himself. And the only way his life will not become a living hell is if he's re-elected. So everything and everyone else gets thrown under the bus.

But now Americans at large are waking up to a grotesque, unavoidable reality: This isn't new. Trump has always been staggeringly out of his depth as president, routinely overwhelmed by the rigors and requirements of the gig, while appearing to act based solely on his own political and financial desperation.

I hope this is true, that Americans are now seeing Trump for who he is. But it's already been so obvious for so long that I have to be skeptical that anything will change.

I'm thinking the same. Where is it coming from that Trump's supporters are starting to see the truth? I'm figuring, instead, that FOX is still whitewashing everything, emphasizing that the virus is a natural disaster not of Trump's making and that the stock market decline is a reaction to, again, what's not Trump's making. Are local officials at the state level in red states contradicting Ttump? Maybe that's where it's coming from? I suppose. Are local officials gonna risk exacerbating the virus spread with misinformation all to support the president's self-serving interests?

Did I just answer my own question?

I watched Hannity for as long as I could without raising my blood pressure to critical levels.

In Hannity world, "Trump is doing valiant battle against the Wuhan virus, and why are Democrats so opposed to calling it the Wuhan virus? Democrats could be doing so many more productive things than arguing over whether or not it should be called the Wuhan virus. I mean, didn't it come from Wuhan County, Mr. Random Right-Wing Nutjob?"

"That's right, Sean, Democrats are despicable."

"Also, listen to the disappointment on MSNBC that it's down to two old white men! Do these people have no shame? "

"That's right Sean, Democrats discriminate against old white men. I'm an old white man and I'm disgusted."

"We'll be right back after this truss commercial with fresh reporting on AOC bearing Bernie's love child in secret. Or Biden's. Depends on who wins the primaries tonight, which we're not really covering because Democrats are despicable."

I'm intrigued by the notion of a Cretin Registry and propose its HQ be located at the studios of Fox News. It is Cretin Central and should be so recognized.

"As voters and as employers, we need to stop acting like selfish children, making our selections all about us and our hang-ups, and instead begin to realize that it's a job that only 44* other people have been chosen to occupy. It's a job of significant gravity and solemnity."

It's the bolded portion of this quote that fully resonates with me. This is the basis for every Blue vote, that it's not about our personal self but a vote to restore our nation. I'd like to see people rethink their grievances and grasp that.

* Actually 43 due to Grover Cleveland having been counted for each of his terms, making him the 22nd and 24th president.
