Really funny. Was just thinking about starting this thread. Can't decide though whether I'll leave this 3-day one going.

Re: Quarantine Beards

As I mentioned in another thread, I already have one but was getting ready to take it off. I kind of like this one but I tend to get tired of beards after about six months (started this back in October)

and the fact that it's basically pure white at this point doesn't help either.

But I resolve now (unless I change my mind) to keep it until Opening Day finally happens ... or I suppose until they decide to kill the season entirely.

Now what we really need is a proper cocktail to get us through all this, so feel free to make suggestions.

The winning mix (or mixes) will of course be named the Quarantini

I made it about 6 weeks, a new record, before shaving for the girl scout daddy/daughter western dance. That was rough. standard 5blade razor barely worked. Shaved again for a wake/funeral this weekend, I might lapse into a beard again out of laziness, but that like, second-4th week of working past the itchy phase is annoying.

use the backside/beard trimmer on any electric before the real shave, takes under a minute and will get 90% of the hair off making the rest easy.

Patchy beards are all the rage. At least that's what I'm telling myself. If Mookie Betts can get away with this, I'm totally fine.

Yeah, but you shouldn't be seeing them!

I gave myself a haircut and a beard trim this morning. The hair on the back of my neck was beginning to annoy me, and my usual haircut guy is my dad, and you know, social distancing any everything. Fortunately I have only have hair around the edges, so I was able to give myself an effective haircut using my beard trimmer.

(A selfie of the back of my head, however, revealed that I have some touching up to do!)

No. The one concern I have seen is that if you contract the virus and need a mask, it won't fit right if you have a beard.

I've been a remote worker for almost two years and had a goatee for 11. I shave every four days or so, and the quarantine hasn't changed that.

So we never got any further word on who, if any of us, followed up on this and, if so, to what degree.

As mentioned somewhere above, I already had a beard before this ever started but figured I'd join in on the no-haircut thing until the season either started or was canceled for good.

Problem was that my dome was already a bit shaggy to start with which, when combined with the closed-down barber shops and my existing penchant for going a long time between haircuts

under normal circumstances (including for a week or two after the season finally resumed) led me to looking something like shot #1 here by early August.

By mid-August I had finally been shorn and trimmed as per picture 2

I think that second guy might have a shot at getting on an airplane without too much harassment.

But I've got three words for guy #1 there: Body. Cavity. Search.

I've grown a beard a few times over the years but I think maybe three months is

the longest it lasted. Find it uncomfortable or whatever. Covid-wise, I've only been

shaving 1-2 times week which I've decided is stupid because it's face-irritatingly

annoying to shave 4-5-6 days of lazy stubble - so going into the off-season on a

shave everyday regimen maƱana.

No idea how dudes walk around with the Bunyan beards, especially in the summer.
