The most [CROSSOUT]amazing[/CROSSOUT] amazin' thing about that was just the act of finding identical sextuplets who are musically inclined in the first place.

I mean, once you do that, teaching them the M-t-M theme is pretty mundane.

"Hmm...I could do an arrangement of 'Meet the Mets' on flute, clarinet, and 4 different saxes, but it just won't sound right without trombone flourishes, and I just don't know how to play trombone."

I think JCL is our resident trombonist.

I can play bassoon, which means I can theoretically play bari sax. Theoretically.

Re: Meet the Mets Brass

As a bonist i can also fake the baritone. I never realized how easy if is to play "pushbutton" brass

Re: Meet the Mets Brass

Reed players generally find it workable to jump to other reeds and train themselves up quickly, so you may frequently see the sax player in a band pull out a flute.

That's true of "mouthpiece" brass to a lesser extent. Boners and baris use the same mouthpiece size, so it's a quicker jump between them than, say, from trombone to French Horn.

Yes I couldn't get a sound out of a french horn or a trumpet.

Despondent Ivan should be in every version of these videos. Viewers anticipating his guitar work somewhere, then he just gets up and trudges off each time. Imagine him in the brass ensemble above, but just chilling. I'm dying thinking about it.

A friend of mine emailed me that Mets/Gershwinesque Rhapsody a few hours ago. Was that a coincidence or is that Mets video going viral?

Re: Meet the Mets Brass

As I relayed there seems to be an attempt anyway at a Meet the Mets viral thing, with the goal of supporting charity.

I got tagged by a friend who did a mellow acoustic version and I tagged 3 musician friends who I'll hope to do the same. I probably should tagged 10
