Re: Try Not to Think Positive

I would have figured that Blackmon's beard was better protection than any face mask ever invented.

Guess not.

I would have figured that Blackmon's beard was a happy little nest for all sorts of dangerous micro-organisms long before anybody identified covid.

That said, get well soon, Charlie Blackmon.

Re: Try Not to Think Positive

Or maybe some of those employees reported fake-positive results as an excuse to request permission to work from home rather than have to go into that ugly building.

Lol think of the germs that mess can harbor, like a mop

Saw in the paper five Phillies are sick.

In any case I'm hopeful for a brief but interesting season

Joey Gallo of the Rangers (and their forever-dormant stadium) tests positive.

Add Aroldis Chapman to the list.

Re: Try Not to Think Positive

Just a question: if these players recover, will they even be strong enough to play this year?

And does Cano have it?

Two questions I guess

Re: Try Not to Think Positive

no one knows. a lot of them are simply asymptomatic, so probably.

Mets say there have been no baseball injuries, so Cano is a good candidate, but that could simply mean he's been in contact with someone that tested positive.

According to Yahoo Sports, both Atlanta catchers, old friend Travis D'Arnaud and Tyler Flowers are out with "Coronavirus symptoms".

Re: Try Not to Think Positive

Brad Brach, now back, did test positive.

Brad Brach returned to the Mets on Saturday after missing summer camp following a positive coronavirus test.

Brach announced he tested positive when he spoke to reporters via Zoom on Saturday. He said that both he and his wife had symptoms.

"At first, I thought it was gonna be a cold. I guess that's kinda the case you hear from everybody. It just felt like a cold, maybe sinus, something like that," said Brach. "When I made the drive to New York, I felt great that day, and then I took my initial test here at the stadium, and as I went back to have lunch, couldn't taste the sandwich I was eating. I thought maybe it was the sandwich I was eating, I thought it was the soda I had. I can just tell that my taste was gone and my smell was gone and that's when I kinda started to take it a little more serious."

Brach said both he and his wife's symptoms were "pretty mild," but it was scary as his wife was pregnant with twin boys at the time.

But thankfully, the Brach family is all healthy, and he got to be with his wife for the birth of his new sons.

"My wife's feeling good, the boys are safe, and everyone is doing alright," said Brach.

Brach said despite the positive test, he feels "so far so good," but admitted he may have thrown a few pitches too many.

"It was at least nice to know where my limit was at right now," said Brach. "I got it to between 25 and 30 pitches, and, like I said, I just kinda felt good."
