This was a vintage early-2019 kind of game. Jake pitches well but leaves without a lead. Bullpen vomits all over the coffee table. Attempted last-minute comeback falls just short. Rinse and repeat.

The aftermath of bases loaded nobody out is agonizing but it's better than thinking about 150,000+ as well as a dictatorial attempt to postpone Election Day: Conforto didn't look "locked-in"--you know that look and he didn't have it as if he had trouble with Workman's delivery. Yo is flailing (say it like Jerry Lewis) at breaking balls so he's swinging at any fastball regardless of location. I'm not going to rag on Cano, that almost dropped in, and Twitter gave him enough grief. Scherzer threw over 100 pitches yesterday--Luis could have given Jake one more inning especially after a quick 6th.
