Jacob deGrom undergoing MRI after leaving Mets start with back problem

Excerpt:

The Mets hope to get more answers on Jacob deGrom's status soon as the ace will undergo an MRI exam Wednesday, manager Luis Rojas said.

DeGrom, the 32-year-old two-time Cy Young winner, exited Tuesday night's intrasquad game after just one inning with back tightness, clouding his status for Opening Day. The Mets are set to open the shortened 2020 MLB season on July 24 against the Atlanta Braves.

Jacob deGrom Headed For MRI

Excerpt:

The Mets have decided to send top starter Jacob deGrom in for an MRI on his ailing back, manager Luis Rojas told reporters including Newsday's Tim Britton (Twitter link). deGrom left his Summer Camp appearance yesterday after a single inning.

There's still no reason for serious alarm, to be clear. But it's hardly the best news to follow up on yesterday's development. Sending deGrom in for imaging does indicate that the organization has concern beyond the level of regular maintenance.

Yep. Isn't Jed Lowrie still day-to-day?

Day to day could be a half season

Nah, Jake's alright

Is Lowrie's status shrouded in mystery or is it me. He feels like the fictitious Captain Tuttle in MASH
