Citi Field Power Surge 2020

Forty percent of the home schedule complete (geez, that was fast), let's check in on the updated All-Time Citi Field Met Regular-Season Home Run Leaders. Active Mets in ALL CAPS.

1. Duda 71

2. CONFORTO 57

3. Wright 49

4. Granderson 38

5. Flores 37

6. Cespedes 30

6. Cabrera 30

6. I. Davis 30

9. ALONSO 29

10. Murphy 27

11. Reyes 25

12. d'Arnaud 22

13. Frazier 20

14. NIMMO 17

14. J. DAVIS 17

14. Bruce 17

17. Pagan 15

18. SMITH 14

18. Walker 14

18. Beltran 14

21. ROSARIO 13

21. Hairston 13

23. Nieuwenhuis 11

24. McNEIL 10

24. Lagares 10

24. Bay 10

27. Plawecki 9

27. Francoeur 9

29. RAMOS 8

29. R. RIVERA 8

Cespedes added two in 2020 before melting into the crowd/going on the restricted list. Lagares is polishing his Gold Glove at the Alternate Site by the sea. If you wish to consider them current Mets and therefore meritorious of capitalization, feel free to upper-case their respective cases. (Hell, Wright is still more or less under contract through this season.)

Current Mets further down the chart...

CANO 6 (tied for 34th with six others)

NIDO 5 (tied for 41st with three others)

DEGROM, MATZ, SYNDERGAARD 2 (tied for 58th with thirteen others)

GUILLORME, LUGO 1 (tied for 74th with twenty-four others)

The next Met to hit a first home run as a Met at Citi Field will become the 100th Met to hit a home run at Citi Field. One-third of the way into this truncated season and no Met among the thus far fifteen new-for-2020 Mets (seven of them position players) has hit a first home run as a Met, home or away.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2020

Fun trying to come up with the first names of everybody in the 57th-75th Club.

I'm currently stumped on "R. Davis," despite that first initial providing a clue.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2020

it would be real nice to see Conforto pass Duda next season, and then continue into triple digits with a contract extension...how many seasons will it take before Conforto and Alonso are #1 and #2 on the list?
