CPF Google Meet Discussion Thread

I'm putting this in the baseball forum because I know some avoid the NBF, etc.

I enjoyed our Zoom meeting some time ago but it's not really in our budget to

open a Zoom account. I learned this morning that Google Meet is free and sup-

posedly just as good.

Anyone have any experience? Do you have to use Chrome? Does it work on Apple?

Looks like it does work on multiple browsers including Safari, so Apple would seem to be good. https://support.google.com/meet/answer/7317473?hl=en

Free version apparently supports up to 100 guests and 60 minutes. If we're going over an hour on a Google Meatâ„¢, Fman better be getting tips.

I pay for Zoom to go beyond an hour, if that is an option.

we use google meet at work, as long as you have a google account it shouldn't matter whether you are using Apple, Windows, Android or a Chromebook...

Thanks for helping me and my laziness. The free thing came up on a high school

fb discussion page (40th reunion was to be this weekend) and the popular kids are

trying to set up a few happy hours and such. 'Free' and '250' seemed too good to

be true.

CPF wise, I guess the next question is does anyone have GSuite and willing to use it?

Sorry that link might have confused issues. GSuite isn't required. Looks like you just need a google account and away we go.

Here's all the good stuff. https://apps.google.com/meet/

I just meant (I think) GSuite subscribers can host a meeting (without time restraints) and

invite anyone with a link.

Gotcha. I think time restraints is a paid tier. But sounds like we can always use smg's Zoom account, if needed.

Right, unintentionally glossed over SMG's post up there.

Let's discuss an October meeting on Zoom if that's ok with SMG?
