Hope Hicks gets sick and Trump attends an indoor event in Bedminster. This would be funny if it were not so frightening and negligent.

Pelosi must be on high alert after Pence.

Wouldn't most of the Trump clan be exposed?

I am thinking of our enemies in the world and how vulnerable we have become as a nation.

Getting to the truth of this and the timeline of infection(s) will not happen without pulling teeth.

Biden is likely getting tested and observed now.

Trump clan? What about Biden, on stage with Trump, who was talking in a loud voice, often screaming, for about two hours, two days ago? Both Biden and Trump were maskless during their debate.

I saw a 'Letter to the Editor' (forget where) from a Trump fan opining that Biden was going to pull that same kind of strategy: announce a positive test right on the verge of the debates as

a) a way to get out of them (cuz he's sceeered y'know)

and

b) as a way to deflect the age/fitness issues by staying asymptomatic

It's easy to see ulterior motives behind everything when you don't trust the other side/person, but I think the Occam's Razor principle probably applies here.

Now all someone needs to do is grab that tape of him arrogantly saying (does he say things any other way?) back in February "We've got this under control" and

put that on an endless loop in the background anytime his current condition is being discussed.

That's one of the first things I thought of. The evilest thing I though of is whether Trump knew he had covid-19 before the debate and kept it mum, hoping to purposely infect Biden. I suppose this is very unlikely because Trump's infection couldn't be kept secret for that long -- and even if it could, there would still be the high risk that the timing of Trump's infection would eventually get out.

The possibilities are endless, given this administration's disdain for safe covid prevention practices. For instance, does Amy Comey Barrett now have to self-quarantine? This wouldn't necessarily derail her confirmation, but it could delay it enough so that she's not seated on the Supreme Court in time to hear oral arguments on the Obamacare case, scheduled for one week after election day.

Nah....they're not competent enough to pull that off. But this throws a lot of things into the blender. First, Trump's off the campaign trail for at least two weeks. Nobody in the White House wears masks. He had a fundraiser in Bedminster yesterday where he was posing with big donors. And he spent a lot of time in close proximity to Amy Coney Barrett, who spent a lot of time close to Mark Meadows, who spent a lot of time close to a number of Republican senators, including Mitch McConnell. I'm guessing those hearings won't go off on October 12th like originally planned. A lot of Republicans are going to be quarantining.

And not 60 hours ago, he was chastising Joe Biden for wearing a mask. That'll be played incessantly. If nothing else, it keeps his failure on COVID front and center in the news.

In a case like this with a two-headed top of the ticket you're right, although I was just using the Trump example in a generic sense where that wouldn't always be the case, a Senate election for instance.

And even with President, not everyone who votes/voted for the name on the top of the ticket would choose do so for the backup, or even vice versa, and the more early voting gets expanded the more

likely you are to have votes that can't be taken back even though circumstances, such as having a breathing candidate, change.

When I was a kid, a neighbor, local lawyer type w/a small office above a store front on Main St, ran for and was elected to the NYS Assembly (at which point he promptly moved to a better neighborhood

across town). Then right about this time of year, maybe eight to ten two-year terms later, he and his namesake son were out jogging when the old man dropped dead of a heart attack right there on

the Jr HS track. In this case the local Republican party simply replaced John Sr's name with John Jr's on the ballot. Now I don't know how many people even realized that it wasn't the same guy

running for his own reelection, but surely some folks would have been aware of the switch and some who may have already cast their votes for Sr (had there been early voting in those days) might not

have been too keen on having a 23-ish y/o kid, still working his way through law school, filling the seat based on his qualifications in the areas of nepotism and name recognition.

Junior won the seat btw and, now at age 59 or so, is still there. Actually he moved up to State Senate a while back so he's actually held Two jobs in his life ... both on the public payroll and in the same building.

Trump is desperate to get out of the hospital. He hates showing weakness, which is why he's been shown 'working' (actually signing blank pieces of paper) and taking that idiotic ride around the block to wave at The Deplorables. Everybody else who gets COVID has to stay in their hospital bed isolated from their loved ones, while he has a little parade. Pathetic.

Particularly since there is essentially a hospital setup IN the White House. But it will give him ammo to claim that he was only hospitalized for a day and a half or whatever (a claim he'll have whittled down to a few hours before long) ... he's so virile you know.

You know what I'd like to see concerning Trump post-presidency? ... I want to see him collectively IGNORED.

It was our country and our media's cult of celebrity that, if not got him elected, then at least set the stage for him to be so. I'm sure that most of those on 'The View, for instance, and certainty most of those who run shows such as that, wouldn't vote for Trump to a local school board. But when he wanted some place to spin his 'Born in 'Kenya shit, they tripped over themselves because 'WE'RE GOING TO GET THE DONALD ON OUR SHOW' without bothering to consider whether he had an intelligent word to say or any facts to back it up. So they fed the beast for a couple of ratings points and need to check the mirror if they're confused as to how all this happened.

Because we live in a whacko nightmare gameshow hellscape, it shouldn't really surprise anyone that our lunatic president is appearing on a rightwing news network tonight to undergo a live “medical examination” after being diagnosed with COVID-19 barely over a week ago. The whole thing is batshit on its face but takes on a special brand of nutbar when you hear that the “exam” is being administered by a confirmed kook who spread COVID misinformation on TV, and the fact that Trump is still not at the 2-week mark from his diagnosis with the virus, which means that he could absolutely be contagious.

Re: Trump Tests Positive for COVID-19

And now, David Bossie, in charge of Trump's delusional campaign to upset the election results:

Then, on Friday, news broke that his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who was at the party, had tested positive for COVID-19, as had four other campaign and White House aides. Meadows' positive result had reportedly come back on Wednesday, but he kept his infection secret from the White House staff at large until after the news reached the general public.

Then, on Monday, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson, who was at the party, tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, later on Monday, campaign adviser David Bossie, who . . . was brought in to spearhead the president's “post-election legal and political battle” (despite not, technically speaking, being any sort of lawyer) because Meadows had tested positive for COVID-19, also tested positive for COVID-19. Bossie was at the White House election night party too.

It appears that Donald Trump's decision not to take the coronavirus seriously—in either personal or professional contexts—contributed to him losing the election. Then it turned a gathering that underscored his failure to win that election into a superspreader event that is handicapping his efforts to overturn its results.

Too bad!
