A retired CIA agent considered Red (Retired, extremely dangerous) and his old unit are being marked for assassination. He brings together the surviving members of his unit and along with his girl friend, an old friend and and old enemy try to find out why they have been targeted and by whom. They discover the conspiracy reaches to the highest levels of Government.

The all-star cast includes Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox and a cameo by Ernest Borgnine.

Director Robert Schwentke balances the line between action thriller, light comedy, and caper film.

The movie has been all over TV (pay and free stations) for a while. I was surprised nobody had posted it here.

I think I saw at some point... and I'm pretty sure I remember not liking it.

Either way, I guess this means it wasn't very memorable.

Yeah, it was, but I agree with Frayed. It was about selling the cast. Outside of trying to elicit a fist-pumping Oh yeah! when Helen Mirren coolly confessed she was an assassin, it didn't really engage. It didn't engage me, anyhow.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Rule stipulates that films aimed at the sympathies of older audiences are well-cast, stylish, and embarrassingly stupid.
