Fun LIJ Fact: Despite the Lake Success address, children born at Long Island Jewish Medical Center are typically born at Katz Women's Hospital, which lies on the sprawling campus just across the Queens border. So mothers may arrive at a Nassau County hospital center, but their kids get a New York City birth certificate.

Man, EVERYBODY's got a charity with their name on it these days.

Interestingly enough, well I don't know about the hospital I linked to, but their foundation is more of a funds funneling one, and they don't accept donations. So it won't show up in the annual Christmas donation swaps posts here. My former place of employment had a foundation set up like it, where that was our organizations giving arm, but it couldn't accept out of the blue private donations. Found that out the hard way when I picked it as my charity of choice here one year and no one could find a mechanism to put in a donation, or the foundation's name in charity watchdog site databases! Oops, oh well
