I was hoping the same, but apparently he immediately said that he didn't want other work, and wants to just hang for a year. I think he would've been ideal as the Director of Ops dude.

Right, and sorry I thought this was this morning's news but see you mentioned it

yesterday in the Heck thread. He was born in NY, wonder if he grew up a Mets fan.

NYT article briefly mentions Mets and Phillies and stuff. Have to go back and search.

I saw some speculation somewhere that Steve Cohen can get Theo to change his mind by offering him an ownership stake in the team. Apparently that's been Steve's MO at Point72 and Theo had expressed a desire to get that kind of a deal from the Cubs but was rebuffed.

More specifically, Theo talked about working with non-profits for a year or so, but also said he he looked forward to a "third chapter" in his baseball career.
