This year there are only 16 first-round polls, matching the low set in 2017. This means that the first-round winners will immediately comprise our Sweet Sixteen. Last year, on the other hand, we had 26 polls in the first round. The seven covers with the highest vote percentage got a second-round bye, and the remaining 16 faced off against each other to narrow the field to 16. You can see the brackets from each of the last five years in this thread.

I've found that if you comment as you vote, the votes don't count. You need to post your votes, then come back and add whatever comments you may have. That may be what happened here.

I also was't aware that only 1 advances. So if you have a clear favorite, it might be in your best interest not to vote for more than one?

Remember, these covers are almost a year old. The five-year thing was the deal back then. (Or so it was rumored, anyway.) That's not the case this time around.

Yeah, I think there will probably be very few standout covers this time, since we're covering twelve months of covers but only two months in which games were played.
