I would have guessed you couldn't get any cooler. And I would have guessed wrong.

This is nuts. I'm 47 and I've never heard of the car or the musical act.

I'm convinced Edgy made them both up.

Yeah, and then I created 10 model years, a bunch of commercials with poor sound and the earliest iterations of animated Peanuts characters, webpages, Wikipedia articles, and dozens of chapters of collectors clubs.

And then I went back in time and built one for whippoorcooby. Just to fuck with you.

If we're ever allowed to gather again, go to a rally of Ford Falcon owners. Mid-Century Modern geekdom at it's finest.

IIRC, my aunt & uncle owned a Falcon station wagon for a while. In fact, I think there may have been successive ones replacing previous ones.

They also had at least two successive black labs named Falcon although I'm not sure if the name of the cars and dogs were related or just coincidence.

My folks had one - red, with bucket seats. They rolled it trying to avoid a truck coming out of a rest stop. Luckily they were only shaken up, but the car was totaled. They didn't drive much and took good care of their cars. Some lucky person would still be driving it today.

But I still thought of the football team first.

A friend of mine's step-dad had an early model Falcon he kept in really

good condition. Even though it was never garaged, it lasted into the mid-

80's (and so has he). The funny thing I remember most about it was in the

summer he blasted the heat so the engine wouldn't overheat and in the

winter the heat struggled to keep the car warm.

The only thing I can recall about the Atlanta Falcons is that Steve Bartowski was their quarterback once

I knew it! I'm more surprised you were able to get Wilson Pickett into a doo wop group. Since he's been dead for so long and all.
