The records of his adoption have forever been sealed by EZBoard. It's as if it never even happened.

Brian is the son of Floyd Bannister. Unlike his father, Brian is a right hander. He has been putting up absolutely sick numbers at Binghamton.

Brian has started 15 games for Binghamton and currently sport a record of 9-1 with an Eastern League leading ERA of 1.73. He has pitched 93.2 innings and allowed only 73 hits (only 8 of which have been home runs). He has struck out 83 batters while allowing only 21 walks.

My boy is movin' on up. He's been promoted to Norfolk. I'm so proud I could bust.

Brian punched his ticket south with a strong first half in Binghamton. His stats for the B-Mets:

9-4 with a 2.56 ERA. 109 innings with 91 hits allowed (11 taters). 94 K's and only 27 walks.

Now the true test starts for my boy.

My boy made his first start since moving up to Norfolk. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing only 2 hits and 1 run. He walked 5 (woah) and struck out 4. He earned his first win with the Tides.

Well, it's been roughly a month since Bannister made his first start for the Tides. He has acquitted himself quite well since his promotion to Norfolk.

In his 6 starts he has compiled a 4-1 record and a 2.97 ERA. He has 35 strike outs and issued 10 walks.

Keep up the good work, son.

My boy acquitted himself quite well following his promotion to AAA Norfolk. In 8 starts, he compiled a 4-1 record with a 3.18 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. He compiled 48 K's against only 13 walks in his 48.1 innings of work.

Unfortunately, his performance against the Cuban national team did not go nearly as well tonight. Brian got roughed up for 7 runs in 3.2 innings of work. Cuba went on to defeat Team USA 11-3 and will advance to play Panama in the World Cup final, but the Americans didn't go down without a fight.

Bannister is having a solid spring so far. In 3 appearances, he has compiled a record of 1-0 in 9 innings of work. He has allowed 3 hits without allowing a run. He has struck out 6 while allowing only one free pass. Bannister is showing that he just may have what it takes to help the Mets this season.

It appears that my boy is moving on up to the big time. I'm so proud that I'm about to burst.

Hopefully, he can become the steady #5 starter the Mets are looking for this season. His stuff isn't overpowering, but he seems to know how to pitch and he throws strikes.

It seems as though he had just gotten started on his big league career when his season crashed in burned as he rounded third base in San Francisco. It appears that I was rather negligent regarding his rehab and comeback attempts following his calf injury. All of my youngsters eventually get traded away.

Fair thee well and prosper young Brian.
