Snoopy's a shortstop.

He's not a centerfielder.

And home plate should be surrounded by dirt, not grass.

Well, just because YOU grew up in a rich gated community with your own lawn care crew, doesn't mean that kids/beagles that play in poorer communities can have their grassy lots properly groomed to make a baseball diamond. So there!

A gated community?
He grew up in jail?

Yeah, and his Momma wore combat boots!

(I don't know where he grew up, I'm making a strawman argument, 'cause this is the Red Light and you do things like that here).

And that's why I threw in the jail zinger.
What's said here (hopefully) stays here.
If not, you may really need to arm yourself in DC.

This is about Me and Snoopyfield.

Dirt around home plate is universal, whether the greenry is cut away or worn away.

More importantly, he's got the wrong icon. All wrong.

This thread would be more fun if:

A) Edgy responded to the vile invective we've hurled at him.

B) The original victim of this thread, Centerfield, actually showed up.

OE: C) Edgy hadn't slipped that post in front of mine.

Whenever I see Snoopy, I think of cooby and her Linus avatar, so I think that CF is cooby.

Is CF cooby?

SNOOPY TO MOVE TO CENTERFIELD

By Adam Rubin
Daily News Sports Writer

NEW YORK - Snoopy is willing to play centerfield for the New York Mets, he just doesn't sound thrilled about it.

"Right now, I'll kind of do what I can to help the team. It's going to be a transition," Snoopy, a two-time Gold Glove winner at shortstop, said Tuesday. "That's the plan right now, to see what happens and kind of go with it. I've been going through a lot of mixed emotions."

Snoopy was quiet after the Mets announced Jose Reyes will remain at shortstop, signaling a position switch -- or trade -- for Snoopy after putting up All-Star numbers in 2004.

There was speculation that he was unhappy and had asked to be dealt, but general manager Omar Minaya said Tuesday that wasn't true. Minaya and several other Mets executives met earlier in the day with Snoopy, who said changing positions was a "very sensitive" issue for him and the chat was "definitely" necessary.

"We know this is a change and we don't take that change for granted," Minaya said. "He expressed to us his desire to win, and that he believes in the team. … I can tell you right now that if Opening Day was today, Snoopy would be our centerfielder."

They talked about other skilled infielders who successfully moved to the outfield, such as Houston's Craig Biggio and Baltimore's Melvin Mora.

Snoopy sounds willing to give it a shot -- at least for now.

"I'm here to do what's in the best interests of the ballclub," he said. "It's hard. Imagine somebody coming in and telling you to do something different than you've always done.

"We'll see what happens, I don't know for sure. … I'll always view myself as a shortstop, but to help this team and get the chance to be Centerfield's avatar, I'm willing to make a change."

Snoopy has a highly questionable diva past, brandishing a strange patronizing relationship with a midget named Woodstock, bringing him into the clubhouse, showing up his opponents with trick plays, showing up his teammates with embarassing public slurps, showing up his manager like whenever, and defiantly continuing to play hockey and fly World War I vintage bi-planes in the offseason.

Now, after playing getting away with that crap playing for one team his whole career, he's suddenly going to be a team player? Yeah, right, and Pedro Martinez is going to report early to camp.

That's not a fair comparison. Those two are nothing like each other.

Further proof that Snoopy used to be an outfielder:
