IGT 4/20/06 Traschel v. Padres

Nymr83
Apr 20 2006 06:23 PM

from mets.com:
]NYM: RHP Steve Trachsel (1-1, 4.09 ERA) Trachsel will be pitching on regular rest against the Padres after facing the Brewers Saturday on seven days' rest. He's 6-8 lifetime against the Padres and has never pitched at PETCO Park.

SD: RHP Jake Peavy (1-2, 5.50 ERA)
Peavy seems to enjoy facing the Mets. He's 3-1 in his career against New York, posting a 3.55 ERA in six games.

Steve Traschel should be barred by rule from pitching a game that starts at 10:00PM, who is actualy staying up to watch the whole thing besides me?

I'll go with 2-2 after 8 mets get the 3rd and final run in the top of the 9th when the padres foolishly pull a cruising jake peavy for a pinch hitter.

Willlie can and should say "No, you're not" whenever he feels like it. That's why he's the manager.

Willie doesn't have a PHD, its gotta be the team doctor telling Willie when a player is ready.

Rotblatt
Apr 21 2006 11:17 AM

I'm with Elster. Beltran shouldn't have played last night. Beltran supposedly felt tight before the game, which means he should have been sitting.

It's also reset the clock on the possibility for a retroactive 15-day DL placement. Instead of putting Beltran on the DL and getting him back on May 1, we're now looking at May 5.

Now, maybe he feels peachy today, or maybe he'll be out for a month and it won't make any difference, but IMO, little things like that add up over the course of the season.

Willie did the same shit last year, and it's aggravating.

Elster88
Apr 21 2006 11:18 AM

To top it off, they could've left him in New York to get an MRI, instead of now waiting another couple of days.
