Taguchi's throw was amazing. It's the kind of play that when you first see him throw it, you're mind thinks "Oh shit!". Then when you see that it is actually a good throw and isn't into the stands or dugout, you jump up and proclaim it a great play. Dread to delight in an instant.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but those words reminded me of a throw that did just that - and more. Gino Cimoli tried to throw out a runner heading for third and the right fielder threw the ball into the upper deck behind third at Ebbets Field. We now return you to the original thread. But maybe there should be a thread for really bad plays. Later
