Man, I knew it was gonna be HardCore. He was living under a cloud the last few days.

Re: Designated for Almora

What is the board protocol here?

Is it too soon to post a memories of Corey Oswalt thread, or do we have to wait and see if he signs somewhere else?

Re: Designated for Almora

DFAs aren't necessary shut-the-suitcase, forward-the-mail goodbyes, even if they don't bode well for future Mets clubhouse occupancy; sometimes they're just paperwork and the player remains in the organization.

“Signed a deal with the...” means the player is gone and ripe for remembering.

Corey Oswalt may not be through making memories in a Mets uniform.

That's why I asked.

Corey Oswalt cleared waivers, stick around, is outrighted to Triple-A, gets invited to big league camp.

I feel the same way about him that Edgy mentioned in another thread (Paul Sewald?).

I feel he is a starter, but has been jerked around, up and down to AAA, starter to bullpen and back, and has never been given the chance to prove he isn't a AAAA pitcher.

Hope they keep him in the rotation at AAA so he can demonstrate that he belongs in the majors.

The problem is that Oswalt does well at AAA, gets called up and does nothing, then goes back to AAA. Rinse and repeat. There's a reason nobody claimed him.

Most fail. He may never flourish, but neither do I think the evidence has cast him as a lost cause.
